Step 1 – Reasons for Needing Roof Tarps

Fire Damage

Taking the time to assess the damage to a home, that has been through a fire, can take some time. Executing a long-term plan can take time, but having a short-term solution in place is important in preventing even more damage. Roof tarping prevents any additional damage and destruction by preventing future leaks until full restoration can take place.

Accidents

You know what they say? Accidents Happen! Some accidents are small and insignificant, while others are a lot more consequential. Like, felling a tree into the side of your house and damaging your roof. After cleaning up the tree, you’re going to need a way to fix the giant hole in your roof and that’s where roof tarping services come in handy.

Vandalism

Dealing with vandalism is difficult for so many reasons. One of those reasons can be because of damage caused in the process. If your roof is damaged because of vandalism you will need a quick way to fix the destruction until a permanent solution can be scheduled and roof tarping is a great short-term way to fix roof damages.

Severe Weather

Severe weather happens at unexpected times and is capable of damaging any part of your home in that process. When that damage happens to your roof it’s vital to get it addressed immediately, but the storm may still make it impossible for a permanent roof repair or roof replacement to happen. This is the most basic roof tarp and should be used when you know that a more permanent solution is just around the corner.

Step 5 – Long Term Roof Tarping Solutions

Longer-Term roof tarping is available for situations where it will be a few weeks or longer before you can have your roof repaired or replaced. With long-term roof tarping, the hole in your roof must be covered. We do this with a minimum of 5/8” plywood, secured with 2” screws. Then we fasten a roof tarp above this plywood, making sure that all water can drain off the side of the roof. The roof tarp is then secured with proper straps, as well as screws and washers, to hold the roof tarp secure until the roof is ready to be repaired or replaced.
